Reprezintă o alternativă grozavă la tradiționalele motostivuitoare și pot, de-asemenea, înlocui macaralele grele, ajungând la sarcină foarte aproape. Comparate cu cele mai obișnuite echipamente de pe piață, precum stivuitoarele telescopice sau echivalente în capacitate cu motostivuitoarele, macaralele mari sau macarale mobile, macaralele de tip pick & carry s-au dovedit a fi o alegere mai bună. Macaralele pick & carry pot înlocui, de-asemenea, automacaralele de dimensiuni mai mici iar timpul de setare este mult mai redus, siguranța este sporită iar costurile mai reduse.
